Thank You!

A little bit over a week ago (October, 3), we wrapped up our beta testers campaign. While we did not reach our intended goal (here is a link to the original post), we made a step forward, and are working incredibly hard to create an amazing experience when it comes to paying at restaurants. We’re excited to have those who signed up become a part of creating that experience!

It doesn’t end there — we want to make it extremely easy to find restaurants near you, so that with the look at one app you can find your local favorites, where you can also pay effortlessly. This is what really drives us here, to create an extremely easy to use app that solves the age-old bill splitting problem, and to improve the interaction between restaurants and their customers – you. So, thanks for signing up to be a part of this journey!

As we continue to build Delect, we’re curious to know: how can we engage more users? We feel solving the restaurant bill-splitting problem requires the entire community. Share your thoughts with us in the comment session below. The owners of two compelling approaches will be invited to coffee, and a meet and chat with the founding team (Jason and I) in our DC office.

See you soon.

Help Test Delect

So this is harder than I thought. Three weeks ago (September, 3, 2015), we launched a beta testers campaign to invite users to be one of the first to try Delect. Here is the original post. Delect is in development, and we anticipate to start beta testing later on this year. Here is a link to sign up for the beta release. We’re 10 days away from our 1000 beta testers goal, and we’re 986 users short. Help us get there. Invite your friends to sign up for Delect. The best part? As a beta tester, you’ll get an invitation to our launch event in DC.

We’re planning a few more things for our early users. Stay tuned.

Help Test Delect

We Need Your Help!

UPDATE: the original blog mentioned 4 months. This update provides a more accurate timeline.

It’s been an exciting, yet challenging few months at Delect. We spent the majority of the past 7 months (4 of which I was still working at the NIH — and many sleepless nights) crafting, researching, and conceptualizing Delect. Delect is an app that allows you to make an automatic payment, with the tap of a button, at the end of your meal, without waiting for the server — regardless of how many people you are with.

How does it work?

You check-in to your favorite restaurant; invite your friends to join you at the table (to make paying easy for everyone); order, just as you normally would with your server; and when you’re ready to leave, pay with the tap of a button.

We’re making things easier, and better for restaurants, too. With Delect for Restaurants, servers can now take orders directly at the table, without the need of a pen and paper, or having to go back and forth, resulting in real-time, automatic tab processing — servers, too, no longer need to spend time processing multiple credit cards.

At Delect, we believe in bold, innovative ideas, and the core of our business, is to improve the way people and restaurants interact — to make people’s lives just a little bit better.

We are in development (more long nights ahead. An intro to my very talented cofounder, Jason, is coming soon) and looking for your help to proof our concept. To do that, we are setting ourselves a challenge. From Today (September 3, 2015) until Saturday, October 3, 2015 we want to sign up 1000 Delect beta testers on our website. It’s a huge task, and we need your help to get there. Sign up for the beta here.

Share Delect with your friends. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with the latest.

Cheers!
